Battalion Chief of Training

Kyle Schilkey began his career in emergency services in 2008 and earned his Paramedic certification in 2010. He is a nationally registered paramedic and holds Ohio Firefighter II certification, along with Fire Officer 2, Emergency Services Instructor, Fire Inspector, and multiple specialty certifications.

Prior to joining Oregon Fire Rescue in 2021, Kyle served with the Perrysburg City Fire Division and the Jerusalem Township Fire Department. Kyle also spent several years as a certified Critical Care Paramedic (FP-C) with ProMedica Air.

At Oregon Fire Rescue, Kyle previously served as Lieutenant with OFRD, and has been actively involved in department education and training initiatives and also serves on the NWO Consortium protocol committee.  Kyle has contributed to EMS education, protocol development, and evidence-based practice, supporting both departmental growth and regional collaboration.

Beyond the firehouse, Kyle is deeply committed to family and community. He has been married to his wife Jackie for 17 years, and together they are raising three children—son Christian and daughters Cheyenne and Paige. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys spending time outside with his family whenever possible. He also volunteers as girls travel hockey coach for a youth hockey organization in Michigan, continuing his passion for mentorship and leadership beyond his professional career.

Kyle is grateful for the opportunity to continue to help develop the members of the OFRD, as well as continue personal growth.
