Thanksgiving is near. Statistics show a rise in cooking-related fires during the week of Thanksgiving. We have provided some helpful tips to help you keep your family and your home safe.

  • Frozen turkeys and hot oil don’t mix. Thaw your turkey before cooking. For most applications, 1 day for every 4-5lbs works.
  • Class K extinguishers are required to extinguish an oil fryer. Set your cooking operations up outside, away from structures.
  • Use an oil that is less likely to react or ignite like peanut or canola.
  • Never leave a cooking operation unattended.
