Business Inspection
Oregon Fire Prevention will visit each business annually to conduct inspection and code enforcement.
What We Inspect
Code enforcement requirements are vast, but these are some of the common items found in each business.
Fire Extinguishers
Fire extinguishers should be properly mounted in an area that is easy to access.
Fire extinguishers also require annual service.
Exit/Emergency Lights
All emergency and exit sign lighting should be tested once a month (for battery backup). We also request a record be made for testing.
Egress
All egress and emergency exit routes should be maintained from any position inside the business to the safe location (typically inside through an exit door).
These are only a few topics we examine; however, these are all considered life safety hazards. Consider a Knox box for fire department access for your business.
