Chief Clayton O’Brien

It is an honor to serve as your Fire Chief and lead the dedicated men and women who protect our community every day. Our commitment is to provide professional, compassionate service while continually improving how we prepare for emergencies, respond to calls, and help prevent incidents before they happen.

Our daily staffing includes 12 full-time personnel, including two Lieutenants and a Battalion Chief, supported by three part-time personnel. This staffing provides the crews and leadership needed to deliver fire protection, advanced life support emergency medical care, and rescue services around the clock.

In 2025, our department responded to a record 4,061 calls for service. Behind every call is a person, family, or business depending on us during a difficult moment. As demand grows, we remain focused on maintaining readiness and providing the level of care our community deserves.

Training is our standard. Our personnel continually develop their skills through hands-on drills, realistic scenarios, continuing education, and joint training with our partners. From medical emergencies and structure fires to water rescues, technical rescues, and hazardous materials incidents, preparation is essential to protecting both the public and our firefighters.

Our work also extends well beyond emergency response. Our Fire Prevention team provides public education, fire safety inspections, plan review, and fire investigations. These efforts help residents recognize hazards, support businesses in maintaining safe facilities, and ensure fire safety is considered as our community grows. Investigating fires also helps us understand their causes and guide future prevention efforts.

Community partnerships are essential to our mission. We value our relationships with residents, schools, businesses, healthcare providers, industrial partners, neighboring departments, and community organizations. By sharing knowledge, resources, and responsibility, we strengthen our ability to prevent emergencies and respond effectively when they occur.
