Chief Clayton O’Brien

On behalf of the Oregon Fire and Rescue Department I welcome you to our website. I hope you find our new website helpful and informative.

I am honored to lead the great men and women of Oregon Fire and Rescue and we are committed to providing the residents and visitors alike with a high-quality fire and EMS service. We are a combination department and answered over 3,500 calls for service last year. This is an increase of 72% over the past ten (10) years. We are an all-hazards department providing fire suppression, emergency medical (ALS), water rescue, rope rescue, confined space rescue, and hazardous materials response.

Our coverage area provides our department with unique opportunities and challenges. We are proud to provide our services to all our industry partners, commercial partners, and Great Lakes Ship partners. Because of these opportunities the men and women of the Oregon Fire and Rescue are well rounded and trained in all disciplines.

In addition to our emergency services, we are proud of our non-emergency services as well. We offer public education to include fire safety talks, fire extinguisher training, CPR training and car seat installation. Our fire prevention bureau is overseen by our Assistant Chief and two inspectors that conduct over 1,000 fire safety inspections and plan reviews each year.

We are thankful for your continued support as we grow our services to meet the needs of our community. If you have any questions about our department, the services we offer, or how you would like to become an Oregon Firefighter please contact our department through this platform or call (419) 698-7111.

Best Regards,

Clayton O’Brien
Fire Chief
